hi depends on what sort of business you are starting up i guess, might have more influence if it quite high end design work but in general being able to sell the job to the potential client maybe more important than the letters after your name sadly
Hi
Thanks for that, starting in general maintenance and moving into design possibly at a later date, have been out of horticulture for 15 years in the conservation and ecology caper, so was thinking of a refresher as much as anything.
Good food for thought!
Thanks very much
yes the maintenance can feel like physical donkey work a lot of the time but actually to do it well a lot of experience and plant knowledge is so important. And loads of work out there just make sure you charge a high rate that reflects your qualifications and that time you already put in. The right clients are out there. Best of luck
Thank you very much
rob -- i am also looking into the possibility of RHS level 3 -- might not end up doing it but thinking about it none the less ! I have been told that the RHS hort levels 1,2, and 3 are all being totally re written this year and will not be the same after wards. There has been some discussion on whether or not it will be better or actually worse than the previous system -- so id find out exactly what the difference is before committing to it !!
Thanks for that Dan, I'll keep an eye on that. Wonder why they're changing it all...
Rob
I have a feeling there was less practical work in it --
