Rear tine rotovator

Looking for a rear tine rotovator at the budget end of price.

Half considering the Husqvarna TR 348, I know the earlier models with the mono handle had issues with the handle breaking , now come with  a dual handle, at around £1200 seems cheap and wonder if it's a rebadged Chinese machine?

Then there are numerous Chinese machines starting at around £500, which when we get the VAT back make them around £420, almost a disposable machine at that cost. Appreciate spares will probably be unobtainable and warranty non existent.

We will only be using it 3 or 4 times a year on modest areas and want the convenience of our own machine rather than hiring.

So anyone using a Chinese machine, if so which one? Or the Husqvarna ? Thoughts and experiences gratefully received on these and others, we are not in the market for BCS, Camon etc due to cost.

I used to have a massive Honda one, as reliable as you can get - it was bought off FB Marketplace for £200 and sold 5 years later on FB marketplace for £400 - yes it was sold too cheaply :)

I used to have a MTD machine which is identical to the Husqvarna. Bought it off a customer who used it for his private veg garden till he got too unsteady to use it. I used it about twice and it was recently sold for what I paid for it years before - £500!

Paint still hadn't been worn off the tines.

Yes I probably sold it cheap but I am trying to clear a 15 year 'back catalogue' of machinery we just dont use anymore!

A shortened version have you considered the Stihl multi engines machine such as the MM56 with bolo tines .

You can buy tines for other uses so have a machine which is versatile and not just confined to being a dedicated machine which only gets limited use .

      • Not big enough, already have one
