As in my previous post, I am insured by Simply Business and my experience thus far not that great. However, I am new to this field of work and first time breaking someone's window. I have contingency funds for events like this. The actual application was straight forward, but they reached out to my customer, and made it sound like a murder had taken place (my customers own words). My customer is very understanding and has been brilliant throughout this. I emailed my insurance company with an estimate, rather than an actual quote. I was told that case was closed because it falls under the excess fee- so whilst I am a little disappointed, it makes sense. I didn't know my excess fee until this point though. From my understanding, the actual claims are not dealt by Simply Business but an underwriter of sorts. Communication and response times are a little slow but yeah.
You live you learn. Stones are heavy objects and can certainly cause catastrophic damage. No doubt this won't be the last time I do it but hoping I'll avoid any this side of Xmas
