Rate your insurance provider

Following on Michael Ollson's post, thought it would be interesting and informative for members if there was a poll/rating of  insurance brokers/companies used.

For it to be relevant it needs to be based on actual claims and how  the claim was handled and was the payout fair?

This the only realistic way of judging as they are all happy to take your money off you, it's what happens after that which is important. So come on lets name, shame or praise.

  • As in my previous post, I am insured by Simply Business and my experience thus far not that great. However, I am new to this field of work and first time breaking someone's window. I have contingency funds for events like this. The actual application was straight forward, but they reached out to my customer, and made it sound like a murder had taken place (my customers own words). My customer is very understanding and has been brilliant throughout this. I emailed my insurance company with an estimate, rather than an actual quote. I was told that case was closed because it falls under the excess fee- so whilst I am a little disappointed, it makes sense. I didn't know my excess fee until this point though. From my understanding, the actual claims are not dealt by Simply Business but an underwriter of sorts. Communication and response times are a little slow but yeah.

You live you learn. Stones are heavy objects and can certainly cause catastrophic damage. No doubt this won't be the last time I do it but hoping I'll avoid any this side of Xmas
