A new trade magazine - Professional Horticulture + Landscape Design - is to launch in March 2015.
Laurence Gale, formerly of Pitchcare, is the new publication's editor.
"pH - Professional Horticulture + Landscape Design is a vital new publication for the professional horticulture and landscape design industry, adapting to the ever-changing media and publishing environment to create the platforms to communicate the right messages to the right audiences.
The website will provide a vehicle for magazine content, as well as stand-alone content such as daily news updates, technical articles and advice columns, a video hub, readers forums, shows and exhibitions updates."
It's a brave move by TSP Media (TSP owns brands such as The Groundsman and Landscaper & Amenity. Professional Horticulture + Landscape design is entering into a narrow band in terms of readership in a market that's already squeezed by Hort Week, The Landscape and ProLandscaper.
There's bound to be some pressure on all these brands and (to the benefit of advertisers) a squeeze on advertising costs.
What's your take..is there room for more in the landscape media trade space?

I would subscribe to it.
All the mags on the shelves seem to aim at domestic gardeners and allotment holders. There is very little focus on landscaping. A dedicated magazine would be welcomed.
There is a production in the USA Garden & Landscape Design which is about as close to my needs that I can find. When they start providing oversea subscriptions I will be first on the list. In the meantime the website itself is excellent. I think there is also something similar in Australia.
Laurence Gale has moved on already.
Has the gamble by TSP media failed?
