Have you manually turned the throttle on the engine to see if it'll rev up.
No I haven't tried that yet.
If the exhaust is clogged with carbon this could cause these symptoms, I boil then in neat antifreeze and this seems to work well but I think you can also heat them up with a blow torch.
Thanks I will try that.the machine is 8years old .so the carbon build up will be a issue. I've purchased carburator cleaner but to no avail
Have you tried the adjustment screws.
L screw is how it revs, H screw is full throttle speed.
Yes I've tried that
When you say there is no power, do you mean it just stays ticking over? The only time I've had an exhaust "clog" was when an old hs61 hedgecutter had a spark arrester mesh fitted....... these don't so won't be the problem. Was the machine ok and then suddenly went wrong?
When I push throttle it still goes but bogged down the head spins very slowly. Yes machine was fine ,I thought it was air filter
Have you checked that the head is completely free to rotate. I have seen similar problem, which turned out to be tough grass wrapped behind the head between drive shaft and surround.
The head swings freely no grass build up thanks
