Did it look like that before you cut it, or has it turned like that after you've cut
    It recently.
  • yes it been like it since i started cutting it 6 weeks ago i applied a nitrogen fert 2 weeks ago to try to green it up but it has not worked so far it came out of winter like this

Was it long to start with ? Did you cut it right down first cut ?
  • Have you taken a soil sample from some of the badly effected areas?

  • no it has never really grown since winter first cut i took no more than 20 mm off and the same every cut since

  • Pictures would help plus have a peek at what is happening below the ground

  • some one said that they thought it was Fusarium ??

  • PRO
I would just wait till the fert kicks in, see what it's like in 4 weeks, maybe some of
The grasses have died off, poor rooting ? Is there much soil depth ?
  • If it's fusarium and you've just fed it....be prepared for more disease. Pics will help, but there's brown patches and born patches. Fusarium is more orange, it could be larvae damage from crane fly larvae, it could be chafer damage, it could be that the fescue grasses that produce lots of dead leaves, could suddenly be cut a little shorter than it has done and is now showing lots of dead organic matter. Mower could be blunt, could be dead plants caused by either fus over winter.

Don't think it's any disease it's too constant over the area, like David said fescue died off
Over winter, check the blade, grass looks stressed with short cutting, lift the mower up a setting for the next 4 weeks should improve once the feeds have kicked in, you could always lightly scari the dead grasses out once the grass gets established...
