Pricing a small job in Spain - Speak the language?

I am pricing a small job in Spain, artificial grass to be exact, and wondering if anybody knows what the Spanish calls MOT, type 1 aggregate in a 0-6mm size?

Also, what is it like to hire machines out there? Say for instance a wacker plate?

This job is hoping to cover a small break whilst there!

Many thanks in advance.

  • I think it's El MOTo, numero uno.   Surely with these linguistic skills I should come and help?

  • Speaking from a rapidly fading memory here..here goes...

Hiring is little different to here, deposit etc.

'Planche' is what they call aggregate, don't recall ever seeing crushed to dust Type 1 stuff available.

'Gravin' is standard gravel, 'Graveta' being a finer stone,  'Arena comun' is sharp sand. You'll also see 'Chinchilla' and 'Viva' the building sands.

'Cemento' is cemento! 'Saca' is the tonne bag, 'Saco' 35kg/25kg bags.

I'd be far more useful to you than John, linguistically at least, can I come and help instead? ;)

  • Ian, I learn quick, don't be so hasty.  I think we have the making of a team.  Cervesas por pavor, that's my key phrase..........

  • Like the idea, John.

They should make a TV series and call it.......'Adios Pet' ;)

  • Thanks for the comments
