The question is anyone using Aspen?

Presumably sombody is as suppliers stock it.

    • My dealer puts some in the tank of newly serviced machines!  It certainly smells nicer but I'm not tempted to buy...

This time last year we were on holiday in Norway and the local fuel station had Aspen for sale on the forecourt, alongside the Adblue and barbecue lighting fuel, the guys I saw out in pickups with chainsaws and other handheld equipment with petrol engines also had Aspen on the back of their trucks.

So some people love their petrol engine powered equipment enough to buy Aspen, but I don't know the cost of the different fuels in Norway.

It seems that in Norway the cost is around £4.73 per litre of Aspen versus £1.96 per litre for petrol road fuel, so it looks like Aspen is around two and a half times the price of petrol in Norway versus more than three and a half times the cost in the UK.

So based on cost it would be more tempting to use Aspen in Norway.

  • I've only used Aspen (and the Stihl Motomix) on my Stihl stuff that doesn't get used much...... I've a chainsaw and a 40" HS86t which only gets used about once a year.  Expensive but the machines will often start first pull after standing for months. Would never botherusing it on everything.

I love seeing a fridge full of milk.

I use the semi skimmed for running down machines for storage. The full fat i use for storage and occasional use machines like my wacker or tiller.
