It's worth clarifying, the £3.00 allowable expenses for working from home is for those "employed" to work from home. If you're "employed", you surely don't need to do a self assessment? Maybe i'm wrong or maybe it's the newspaper.

For the self-employed (which includes me), a proportion of your household expenses (dependent on your house/garage/vehicle and how you use it, backed up with the usual evidence of reciepts, is allowable.
