Praxys

Hello everyone. I'm new here so be gentle!  Can anyone tell me how long pets need to be kept off a residential lawn after spraying Praxys herbicide.

I've looked at the product label on line but can't seem to find a difinitive answer.

Thanks.

Formal guidance is typically always missing for this aspect but as a start, the best practice is to keep pets off / out of area until product dries ( and extend if it does then rain ).

For the best 'professional' answer, then reach out to your supplier's BASIS qualified person (every company that sells it professionally has to have a BASIS qualified expert), ideally via email ;)

    • Brilliant. Thank you. The man who I deal with at the suppliers is off this week. But I'll have an email waiting for him to open on his return the following Monday.

I'm sure some of the lawn care guys can add further "practical experience / guidance"

        Anyway, Welcome to LJN

        • 👍 Thanks again

    Hi Gary

On a reasonably warm day, I suggest staying off the lawn for about an hour after spraying is completed. As Gary RK says, once it's dry it's safe for dogs to go on. ( I've had dogs, and used  Praxys on my lawn, no problems )

    • Thanks guys. Much appreciated

We say 2-4 hours or until dry for non grazing animals such as dogs and cats. If small grazing like rabbits or guinea pigs, then we ask customers to set aside an area for them which we don't spray.

Strangely, its the winter iron treatment that causes more issues - not dangerous, but if pets go on, then there may be orange footprints on the patio afterwards! We ask for them to stay off for 24hrs.

    • Thanks buddy. Its my first time using this product. In fact its the first time spraying after passing my PA1 - PA6 so you can hopefully understand why I've got a bit of a twitchy bum over it?

    • I agree totally with Andrew, here are the notes we print on our invoices to clients:

Today we have applied a selective herbicide to kill the weeds that are growing at this time of year, plus a season specific controlled release granular fertiliser.  Please do not mow the grass for the next 3 days. Keep people and pets off the lawn for 2 hours (or until dry) and exclude grazing animals for 2 weeks.

      • Brilliant. I've screenshot that and am going to use it myself. Thanks buddy
