Powered turf rollers

HiCan anyone recommend a decent powered lawn or turf roller? We've got a large area of freshly laid turf to roll and a powered/mechanical roller would be really useful.Any help would be gratefully received, thanksIan

  • I use a bomag roller hired from jewsons, its not specificly a turf roller but it works realy well.
  • NO its kept on low speed, it the walk behind not the ride on btw, just in case you thought otherwise, its something we started useing on new builds in Milton Keynes due to the clay soil, the water ballasted rollers didnt do a thing!

having been a groundsman,i don't think i would put a bomag on someones lawn or even new turf, too narrow and heavy in my opinion, with the downside of over compaction of the soil beneath.
if good prep has taken place before turf was laid,a good water ballast roller should suffice, especially if scaffold boards were used in the laying process. the use of a roller mower is always a good thing,a nice heavy honda.
we do have a flemming 4ft trailed roller ,water ballast type, that we use on larger areas, filled as required,up to 500kg i think.just please dont put the bomag on vibrate.
