Rabbiting spade

Thanks Glen, I had looked at this, have you got or used? I'd more or less decided on the Bulldog Premier Treaded Tree Planting Spear code 5518112850 as it has a longer socket. It's difficult to judge from internet photos, can't find a local stockist who has either, would prefer to handle prior to buying hence the post asking for recommendations
Yes it's my do everything spade. It's proven to be pretty tough. If the planting spade has a longer socket I'd have thought it would be bomb proof!
Used this spade for 8 years, for planting and digging out roots.
we have also got bronze tools now. The edge on the spades & trowels is so sharp, a pleasure to use.
Ergonomic, 25yr guarantee.
We use the 'Avuva spade' & 'Castor trowel' in the main

I used to use that rabbiting spade for many years, for planting and root balling field grown conifers, absolutely top piece of kit and also had ours fitted with fibreglass handles for added strength

The best spade I have ever owned by far.....
The burgon and ball transplanting spade is the one for me, it's super strong.
I've had mine for about seven years and it probably see me out. I'm one of those thugs that snaps handles/ spade blades, breaks prongs of garden forks.
Ok it's not pointy. Could cut a point on it with a grinder. They also have the pointy ground breaking spade, which I don't own, but I think I need one because well why not.
I can certainly recommend Sneeboer, handcrafted, indestructible and if it does break, lifetime warranty:
They do a collection of spades for every purpose, I find the borderspade with steps a must-have for planting in existing borders with the smaller blade and shorter handle, but full size version also available.

Hi Franne,
I use some Sneeboers tools, the lifetime warranty is on on the hand forged metal section not the wood I believe?
