does the colour fade in the summer do you know ?
Not a wise decision IMO using bark mulch on a steep bank. Naturally it's not going to stay put so why persevere with it?
You'd be better off changing the planting to include low ground cover and let it run over the area. It'll look better, be very low maintenance and the roots will help hold the whole thing together.
another alternative is the use of staggered sleepers on the gradient, im thinking staggered sleepers (expensive) not really for commercial work. Or other staggered timber retainers to stop slipping until the planting is establised and retains everything itself. Other alternative I see is basice netting pinned at integral places to stop slipping.
Thanks for your thoughts the type of plants and the use of bark unfortunatly we cannot change as this was agreed with the planning i was thinking of maybe putting some timber ie 2/2 or gravel boards and staggering them or i have thought maybe the use of some sort of fury fabrick as this may be better at griping the bark ? again we cant really change the look of the bank with big sleepers
