Phytophthora hibernalis

Does anyone have any experience with Phytophthora hibernalis?The RHS lab at Wisley identified this in a specimen from a mature yew tree which has been subequently felled. As has one next to it also showing symptoms of sparse canopy cover and a brown tinge to the foliage.These trees are in a woodland area that includes a mature evergreen oak other Yews camellias and rhododendrons.An arboriculturalist recommended trying giving a treatment with mycorrhizal fungi.Any comments or tips would be much appreciated.

    I have only ever encountered it as Brown Spot in citrus in Spain and only ever used Kocide to treat it. Timing was everything, from memory Autumn and Spring were the key times. I have a feeling collar rot is in the same "family", if it is then some of the techniques are things like making sure the base of the tree isn't all clogged up with debris and air can get to it.

    I have to say that I am expecting many more posts regarding things like this given this years weather patters.
