I take photo's looking away from the house buildings if possible.
Hi Sarah, we have included a clause in our GDPR statement to cover photography, confirming that photos will be annonimised. We do ask as well and have never been turned down.

Hi Sarah,
I have it in my T's & C's however I usually ask them on completion as It's common courtesy & if they're over the moon with the job then they'll be happy to oblige & show off their garden.
Cheers Dan.
Pop it in the T&Cs and include the fact you won't show people. vehicles or entrance/exits to the house or garden,
thank you everyone!

I put it in T&Cs, spelling out we aim to keep it as anonymous as possible. Also mention it in person at the start of the design / project to be sure they're aware and are happy.
Shots that show 'everything' will be for internal use and possibly to give them before, during, after pics as a reminder. Otherwise we aim to keep photos as anonymous as possible, although their cats often get in shot!
To date, never had a 'no'
