Petrol Road Tax, is this fair to pay?

We have a fleet of 8 vehicles all using diesel.

All our vehicles have and use fuel cards to purchase diesel for our on road vehicles and petrol for our of road machinary only.

Should we be paying petrol road tax for non use of petrol road vehicles?

It is exceptable for farmers to have red diesel for non road use!

John, there is no such thing as rebated petrol. The red diesel rules are actually a mine field for farmers as many tractors now do as many or more miles on the road, field to field, as they do working the land. Lots of farmers now just run white diesel constantly as fines for ''potential misuse' of red outweigh the tax saving.
