That's direct debit which I think is a pretty big deal legally. We're quite a large company, and we don't have it.
might be a Continuous Payment Authority on the consumers debit/credit card
Direct Debit is easy to setup for small businesses with Go Cardless - we have about 25% of our customers on monthly payments, and can also take ad-hoc payments from them for extra work. Doesn't use their card details - the customer sets up their bank details with GoCardless, they have a login and get emails when money about to be collected, plus it stays in GC account for a couple of days before being paid out to us. Gives customers re-assurance that any errors can be intercepted by them before payout to us. They can also cancel it at anythime.
Works well - get good customer feedback about it.
Thank you Andrew
Thank you, sounds interesting!
I agree, it's perfect for business's like ours.
We have been using GoCardless for a couple of years and it has dramatically reduced our outstanding debt issues. We have moved all slow/bad payers to it. Mostly we use it on a Pay As You Go basis with clients but instead of the client triggering the money transfer, we do. It takes a few days to get your money through their transaction process, but it just works. There is a small charge associated with each transaction which is why we prefer PAYG. But for clients with a high annual spend we factor that into their overall costs when paying monthly. It's also helped us to move those cheque paying clients away from cheques. We also use Square for on the day card payments, again it works really well.
There will always be a few late payers.
I normally loose them at the end of the season and replace them in the new season.
as you say it's simple the day I cut your grass / hedge / scarify you pay us.
