  • Solid panels can be done with a cuprinol power sprayer. They function quite well but are pretty crudely made and don't last terribly well.

For fence boards i use a combination of roller and brush as obviously spraying doesn't work too well with the gaps.

Be very careful about drift with spraying as if its windy at all it can make its way to and settle on paving or washing lines surprisingly easily.

I have always been pleased with the cuprinol trade stuff available from dulux decorators centres. The opaque cladding finish is a cut above water based stuff but needs thinned slightly if you want to use it in a sprayer.

  • I used to advertise fence treatment but now after last years rain i don't bother, i had to cancel so many jobs.

People expect me to just drop current work and paint their fence on the first nice day that comes along..

I did mine last weekend and sprayed it with a Cuprinol sprayer i can get from our local market for £10 i sprayed 40 sides in 3 hours then threw it away because in my experience they can't be cleaned.

  • I agree sparyers can be a pain I know a friend and there neighbour sprayed there fence and THEIR CAR TOO! as they forgot to stop at the top and it went over the panel lucky a quick car wash before it dried. Sprayers do end up streky and I prefer the old brush.
