Did that last week for commercial client, similar size tree and it's still standing firm after this weeks weather.
At end, we just 'peel' trug off resultant concrete block.
Tree lasted ok like this last year until after xmas
If the tree is to stand on a lawn or un-paved area, we just get a big dibbing (crow) bar and make a hole about a 300mm deep and of a similar diameter to the trunk.
Remove the bottom 300mm of the trees branches and push into hole created by the bar. the bottom branches are touching the ground and give it the stability.
Our ones have survived the past 2 weeks weather with this method and are looking good. no disposal issues at the end either, just the tree, and a hole that needs healing in.
We bought a potted tree today and for once I didn't have to worry about securing the tree. Heaven's knows what's in the pot but it was heavy.
