out front mower

I have decided that as we have a couple of new contracts for cutting large (several acres) parcs/gardens and although my Iseki SXG 323 is brill, the clients do not need collection of cuttings, and chucking it out the back is OK (with the rear mesh removed, I need a front mounted mower with maybe a 60" cut - rotary would be best as sometime we are asked to cut 3 ft high grass!
So, anyone know of anything decent going ? must be Diesel, pref 4 wheel drive (some nice slopes) and naturally, no money at all! any good/bad machines? I love my Iseki, 450 odd hours and not missed a beat. So Iseki/Kubota/JD?

Cheers
Steve

  • cannot go wrong with a scag!! we run two 48" pedestrian mowers, great in all conditions, although for my biggest contract which is 6 acres of grass we could do with a larger machine as you describe...

  • P.S. I've always fancied a Randsomes parkway 3. Beast of a machine but not quite the workload to buy it.

  • looks a bit of a beast - I dont think it would cope with high grass though? Some of the stuff they call lawns here are really paddocks!

We use the Ransomes HR3300 with an out front rotary or flail deck attachment - not sure about your budgets but you could then use the Ransomes for other attachments too, save some money later down the line!

If you're after a bargain but still a pro machine, its often worth keeping an eye on Pitchcare used machinery: pitchcare.com/used_machinery/
