NFU Insurance way over the odds if within the M25...!!

I had to renew my Van, tool and PL insurance last week and thought NFU were worth a try as they seem to be well reccommended. However there quotes came back more than double what i was already paying elsewhere, when i mentioned that it was very expensive i was told that oddly if you are within the M25 the costs are considerably more!Needless to say i went with someone else, Commercial vehicle Direct for van and tools and Simply direct for PL insured by Zurich.

    Most insurance is more within the M25 and it sounds like they gave you a standard answer. Insurance is fickle; there are always going to be huge differences.

    My point exactly, i wasnt expecting NFU to be the cheapest but double the premium just because its Greater London and not Cornwall or Wales, hardly fair is it! it's not like i live in a crime riddled area either.

    NFU predominantly insure rural risks, therefore if you live in less rural areas they are more expensive.

    You all think vans are difficult, just try insuring a Nursery through the NFU within the M25

    Up until last year we were paying roughly £280 PER MONTH

    As there is only the NFU ( No Flippin Use) to insure Nurseries, they have complete control over the market, so can charge what they like.

    Have to also say that their service is pretty poor from our experience.
