Hi all,

I need a few tips, my employee can't park at his gaff if i put anything on the top of the van ie roof rack or more, secondly my tipods 14ft, wont fit by 1ft ! top the inside of the roof - DAM !! So we were thinking of what the glaziers use to the side of their van and strap them to that when needed. Any more ideas.

I've got a pice for a ply lining kit for £210 is this reasnable price or any outfits anyone wuld recommend to purchase a kit from.

Thirdly we were thuinking of getting a hands free kit, combinded with a radio, that maybe also had a screen buuilt in so we can rig up a rear camera to it. This could save the expense of having rear sensors installed, as you really can't see nothing at the back, or get your hoppo to get out each time one needs reversing.

Overall i'm well pleased with our second van 82,000, 06 plate very good condition. Just needs to earn me some bloodey money now !!!

Andrew

  • You could put a flap in the high top above the windscreen to push the ladders through. Have seen this done on box vans and it looks ok.
£210 sounds cheap for full ply lining, installing a ready made kit would be easy too. Just don't bother buying some plywood yourself and giving it a whirl without the patterns, it will be a right load of mither.

Re; hands free and stereo. You can get a pioneer car stereo with screen which has the ability to link into a camera which can be positioned as a rear facing unit. A parrot hands free kit can be linked into the stereo also and by using Bluetooth you have an efficient system in place which requires no plugging in of phones. If you choose carefully you can also stream your music off the phone via Bluetooth which will also use the screen.

Try your local ICE specialist (In Car Entertainment) my parrot kit cost about £100 fitted, a pioneer stereo suitable for your needs £300 (Maplins have some at £100 off) fitted. Money well spent as a new rear bumper must be about £200 and any third party vehicles pranged would affected your insurance!
