  • Scag 48in hydro-drive. Mulches great, flipping fast and you would never worry about taking on any job. It is a big piece of kit but if you have the right kind of contracts it would pay for it's self in no time.

Check out 2nd hand models - Harry the Cat (Carters) on Ebay always have good priced quality machines.
  • I do keep looking at his! Is the 48" scag comparible mowing speed wise with a gang mower, amount coverd in time wise? Is there any one that uses grasshoppers?
  • Trust me Kieran the Scag will drag you alone!
  • I'm looking at the ride ons realy! I love scags walk behinds I have hired a couple n they go through anything!
  • I dont mind about collecting id mainly side discharge or mulch. Id use it for playing fields and amenity areas.

this is the grasshopper I was looking at:

and any scag or even any other zero turn.

Scag, Hayter condor or great Dane. Used all three machines and all good. Make sure that whatever you buy there is a dealer nearby who stocks spares/ understands the machines.

If Your wanting a proper rider collector then look at an etesia Hydro, I used to run a Kubota G18 but compared to the etesia hydro it is a farr inferior machine in terms of wet collection.
  • Unless doing vast areas the walk behind Scag would be a far better option than a ride one. You would be amazed on what it could knock out per hour and could be used for smaller lawns as well.
