I guess any commercial mower will seem light-years ahead of the Husquy. I use the Honda-equivalents, such as the Kaaz pro, you should get a deal under a grand or I bought a very lightly-used one recently for a lot less. I hate the new Hayters, and never really liked the old ones, but plenty of people swear by them. Having to restart it every time I empty the bag drove me mad. Viking are another suggestion; my dealer doesn't like selling them to contractors, as the rollers need regular repairs in his experience.
That's roller mowers. If you want a wheeled machine then a used Etesia is about as good as you'll get for wet collection. I just can't use a wheeled machine on domestic lawns regularly, they want proper stripes!
K = kawasaki engine, x = suzuki engine (I think), B = briggs and stratton engine, H = honda engine.
I find my etesia decent in the wet, but not the holy grail. I have eard the honda pro mowers also stuff the bag full when its wet, plus they do a model that can be converted to mulching at the flick of a switch which I am considering getting.
thanks dan, what model is that one?
I use an old Harry (now known as Active) as my main mower never misses a beat in the worst of conditions and gives a very good cut as well. May be a bit slower that my John Deere but due to the better collection it takes me the same time to do the job.
The Actives are solid and built from the same mold as the old Harry and are lite enough to pick up if you really have to, i wouldn't go past them now.
hi guys
thanks for the replies, how about the viking MB 755 KS ? anyone have or used one?
The pro51x has the Honda engine but unlike the pro51h this has vairiable speed and blade brake
The pro51 range has no mulch option
The pro46 range (I have listed on here the variations in this range on a discussion) can be fitted with a mulch kit
And we are now doing a 46cm duo cut machine which has the same deck design as the lk , lh , lkx (pro53) mowers were you have a double profile blade and special shaped deck so the machine can cut & collect or mulch just buy removing a blanking insert which takes seconds
Thanks Neal
Which would be better suited for commercial work and wet conditions, the pro51x or pro53?
Sorry to Hijack - Is the 46cm Duo cut available now, and what sort of price range is it to be? I cant find any online reference to it (yet?).
As im planing on moving up to ether a pro53 or pro 51 and ME53C so I can cover all bases (striping is easily achieves with Rubber car floor mat cut to size, and attached to the underside of the grass box).
