Browns arent too bad, I live 10 mins from Leighton Buzzard so they are my go to dealer. I havent been into any of the other show rooms so couldnt comment, but there good in LB.
What about RTM there near Aylesbury, I havent used them so dont know what they are like but they are kind of close ish.
Try http://www.listerwilder.co.uk/home.php
There closest branch to you is Wallingford but they have a huge array of kit.
Thanks guys.
Found a guy in Denham who looks perfect. If anyone wants details PM me, and I'll let you know how I get on after my first two repairs come back!
He's a workshop, not a showroom, and isn't a dealer but can get anything in next-day at not a bad price. His attitude is that any new gear is nice money for him, but he can't compete with online so you choose to keep him happy and pay a little more, and that's reflected in his speed of repairs for his best customers; I can live with that. He has a workshop full of spares and old machinery, so can cannibalise when possible. My tree guy put four saws in that he'd been told were beyond repair, and got three good saws back!
I have been really spoilt by having a near-perfect set up to use, where they were small and flexible so could often do repairs as-you-wait, yet big enough to carry stock of kit and be an authorised dealer. And, pretty well priced. It's a shame when someone who appeared to have a nice niche business sells up to developers.
My only dilemma now is that he doesn't like the Honda-based roller maowers. He can work on them, but doesn't carry the spares and prefers Hayters. You might see me suddenly becoming an advocate of the Hayter Pros over the next year or so......
A good repair shop, with a small premium on new machines is price well worth paying....
As to your last sentence......Dirty words....Wash your mouth out with soap. The Dark Side awaits you ...Paul ;-)
We are a groundcare hire company covering the south east, UK. We may be able to help you so give us a call on 01273 494939. We deliver/collect machinery and can also service/repair any machinery of your own. www.acaciarental.com
Hi Acacia, thanks for that. I really need somewhere I can get too quickly, as repairs are always at the most inconvenient time!
Paul
Completely agree, its always a nightmare. We'd be happy to come out onsite for repairs but understand if you need somewhere closer. Let us know if you need anything, thanks Paul.
