Does anyone know of a testing set-up for measuring the NPK of a susbtance?
, or alternatively send of samples.
The reason I ask is I am experimenting with pelleting various substances, including Grass, Horse Manure and also making a liquid fertilizer from grass "juice" IE grass clippings mushed and squuesed out.
Im Hoping to get the NPK read outs from these sources of organic and sustainable fertilizer to see whether it could be a viable source of a lawn feed, or element of. I currently apply over 150kg a month of fertilizers to lawns accross Leeds, and making my own, even if marginally more expensive to me, would be attractive, not least for the suistanability selling point to customers.

soil testing kits any good as you get them down to a liquid to do the tests, you can make liquid feed from all sorts of plants cumphre,nettles,seaweed,dandelion roots etc i once new a chap that used sheep droppings put in a net bag in a water butt to feed his tomatoes they tasted really nice
David, We send a lot of samples off to a lab, mainly soils, but they can also do plant tissue tests, find the nutritional value of manure etc & testing of liquids or dirty water.
