Mulching mower with a roller?

Perhaps I'm missing something, but, why are there not mulching mowers with a roller?

I have a Honda with Versamow which is great, but, several of my customers would like a striped finish and still have the benefits of mulching.

    You can get mulch kits for some of them. You can also get rollers that attach to the back of 4 wheeled mowers.

    Main issue is that with mulching the grass is left there and tends to stick to the roller. Each time you turn you will find a slab of grass the size of the roller deposited on the lawn. The same happens with four wheels but the pieces dropped are just wheel width wide and less noticeable

    Honda pro do a mulch kit works well for us and yes it does drop grass when you turn but a quick blow up and no one wit know!

      We have used the same kits on our Kubota mowers, comments exactly the same as Busy Bee.

      The only comment I might make is that is takes longer for the blades to engage/disengage due to their being an extra blade for the kubotas (2x weight). I don't know but I suspect it may shorten the life of the blade clutch (although yet to replace the blade clutch on any honda/kaaz machine)

          Not as good - the mulch kit is actually two dedicated blades and the normal one comes off.

            Are you supposed to remove the second blade on the Honda when collecting? My dealer said the blade can stay on whether mulching or collecting.

    Well I've purchased a Honda QX with the mulch kit intended for the 4 wheel model and we'll see how it goes. Thanks.
