I think any "costs" supplied in this Post could be academic not knowing your local market.

What is most important, I suggest, is understanding "your" productivity and then combining with your own internal cost rates + your profit etc...

Otherwise any figure given would be purely speculative / localised / specific?

  • Well Peter you know how long you will take so you must know your hourly charge out rate? Assuming it isn't a commercial contract and that they want a price per M then your price is your price.

Don't forget that you will also have to factor in time spent on strimming and an additional 10 / 20 minutes to load / unload etc. so factor in approx. 2 hours per visit as an average X your hourly rate per man on-site.

Personally, I also add a slight premuim on larger gardens which goes towards the machinary replacement fund (but I do also have this factored in my hourly charge out rate also).

If this was a client of mine, I would package it as 30 visits per year (but word accordingly that this may be less subject to weather / growing conditions) or even as a 21 visits per year and charge £n per month for 12 months.

My £n charge may be higher or lower than yours! I would however be more than happy to share my prices in the Hub rather than open forum.

I would like to echo Graeme and Gary's comments and see this in the Business Objectives Group and without wanting to sound too negative the spec you have given gives very little to go on!
  • Thanks very much fellas

i primarily  offer lawn treatments  but I'm  being asked to come up with regular mowing quotes. No strimming. Just a mow. I,m also trying to work in machine depreciation ...so that I'm  not working  for free. That is difficult to calculate without knowing how much work i can get at what price in the future.... In this way we will all come to a different calculation i,m guessing?

If I'm  not  a pro member can i not get access to the hub?

Any useful calculations or figures, please email me at peterwhit25@yahoo.com

    kind regards

Being a pro member is worth it in many ways and it's only £40 for the year I pay mine monthly by dd. it's one of the things that keeps this site going
