Any of the Honda mowers are reliable.
    Stihl blower
If you give an idea of how much use it will get a better recommendation will be forthcoming:)

For simplicity and near faultless wet collection an Etesia Pro46 or Pro53 with Honda or Kawasaki engines. For blowers any of the Stihl commercial spec oneswill see you through (BG86, BR450).

  • I love the etesia mower as above but I would always say go to your nearest professional dealer and ask them what thier most reliable models are. They will always break and always need repaired quickly so having most of the parts in stock and able to get them fixed locally is almost more important than brand ( except Viking mowers they love to stay warm and dry in the workshop more than be outside)

Yes it's good to speak to a local dealer for backup but when I went looking for a new mower. I went to an Etesia dealer and all I got was here is a JD, this will do everything you want etc. Wouldn't even entertain the Etesia.

So be careful with dealers as they aren't all there to help you 100%

Recommend Stihl for blowers. They're also very popular with customers of ours aswell at MowersUK. I would go to see your local dealer who should be able to show you some to help you choose.

  • I use my local dealer who does etesia and use them. I also have a john deere dealer a couple of miles further up the road. I dont use them because I have never seen any commercial outfit use a JD pedestrian mower. Loads of tracters used though. Does anyone have an opinion on JDs smaller mowers

I know if a couple of firms using them near me. They have been doing this a long time so they either got a good deal or they think they are good. They have been using them for years.
I've only seen one sole trader using one though

I have owned both the 17" And the 21" John Deere roller mowers, I wouldn't say they are bad mowers, but I wouldn't say they are good either, one huge issue with them is the length, proper long monsters, grass collection is ok, the handles on the 17" are flimsy and keep falling out of their slots, the 19" has the same issue from what I can remember... I would say I was the only person in my area using these mowers at the time, would I buy again? No is the simple answer... cheers Harry
