Mower blade style.

I have an HRH536 and wrecked the blade on it. Just wondering what people think of the mower blades with the air flow holes (?) on the back of the cutting edge?

Gimmicky or worthwhile? Before I get one.

  • I bought my HRH536 23 years ago and it came with that blade with holes as standard .

  • always found the holes tend to block up with grass and muck which can make the blade out of balance

  • We were told the only reason for the holes was to cut the noise down to comply with EU regs. The non gen blades don't have holes are a fraction of the price of gen and work just as well, the holes do nothing to improve blade performance as they just block with grass. Save some money and buy non gen.

    • Thanks for this. Done exactly that.

They just looked a bit swish, so thought it was some kind of revolutionary design.

    • Hi, yes my local mower shop told me same thing, just gets the decibel level down very slightly.
