Mower Blade Sharpening

Looking to start doing as much of our own maintenance on the kit as possible going forward. Already doing basic services on everything like oil changes, air filters etc. One thing never done is the sharpening of the mower blades. Can anyone recommend a basic grinder or similar to use for a simple sharpen throughout the season? Thanks

I use a makita 18v chordless grinder, comes with suitable grinding disc. Also use it to sharpen my hedge cutters, spades, hoes etc.

  • pretty much any 41/2" angle grinder will do the trick........... Screwfix do one for £30. .  Really quick and simple job to do........... just do the same number of "passes" on each end of the blade and it'll stay balanced.
