moss upon timber decking

i'm open to suggestion for a common problem, slippery decking!the latest small works, faces west and adjoins the property directly outside the rear door. Last year i jetwashed it, i dont think it had ever been done before then further applied jeyes fluid.This deck has never had a deck paint applied and it is at least 4 years old. I thought by painting it would be less dangerous am i right.

    what kind of timber is it , softwood or hardwood, smooth or grooved finish i only ask because if its a high end timber i would use different methods to a cheap softwood grooved deck. If its high end like ipe i would clean it with oxalic acid first ( this is a water based acid) Really good at cleaning hardwood timber . finish it with a blisterproof varnish these are expensive but worth it, I dont think there is any way to keep it non-slip over the winter apart from regular cleaning. as for the grooved decking personally i think its crap but thats a personal choice
