Morning all. Hope you had a good Christmas and are looking forward to the new year.

I have an area of wet pour (like in play parks) and bonded gravel that needs cleaning. It's getting slippy due to algae. I normally use mmc pro but just want to check if any of you lovely lot have experience of cleaning these surfaces.

I have contacted the makers of mmc pro and the installers of the surfaces to see what they say, and have done a little test patch but not expecting much of a response till next week.

Any thoughts or recommendations much appreciated.

Thank you, Glen.

    Hi Glen,

Sorry away during christmas...how did you get on with this...any response ?

    • Hi, yes thank you. And thanks for the interest.

The test patch has come up very good and clean so when I contacted brintons (makers of mmc pro) my main question was would the product degrade the wet pour over time. Brintons were very confident there was nothing to worry about and safe to use.

The installers were a little more cautious and suggested a weakened solution. Which is understandable. Just covering their backs I guess.

Good stuff. Its the same active substance as our (stronger)MAC Hi-Power - it can discolour certain metals but I would be confident it has no effects on the resin ....good luck.

Let us know if you want try some of the MAC as we sell it in 1L packs....

        • Thank you for the extra reassurance Richard. Thanks for the heads up re MAC. I have to say though, at the moment mmc pro is serving me well.

        • Hi Richard, had a look at mac, are there any discount codes available for ljn members?

  • Pitchcare are doing a good deal on MMC-PRO at the moment......... just bought 4 x 5litres and they throw in an extra 5l for free.

    • Thanks Graham, I'll have a look

  • MMC Pro works out quite expensive compared to the more concentrated biocides available out there... at least double the cost! They generally use DDAC as the active ingredient, so do some research.
