I have to mortar 25 paving stones 50mm x 50mm in a gravelled area but the problem is no parking allowed  or unloading ioutside the property its in the middle of a town centre .

looked into a tredesmans permit which only covers scaffolding , utilities , window cleaning .

Parking is in public car park only which is too far away to  ferry sand and cement , shovels , and the usual gear .

Okay plan (A ) pull up outside property at midnight and drop everything off undetected cctv accepted

Plan         (B) Use mix in the tub mortar or hybrid mortar resins which will be easier to carry from the public car park .

My question is are they upto the job of securing paving stones or really designed for small repairs ?

Or would it be more practical to take small manageable backs of sand and cement ?

Any other ideas welcome . Thanks

Thanks Ken I do get the sneaky feeling others have passed on the opportunity , I dont know why it somehow makes me more determined to find a solution , I may definately wish i had taken your advice though . What problems did you encounter ?

  • Im no expert but maybe dry mixed in a big bucket then mix on the job with a cordless wisk then you can use a regular mix of sand/cement but either way sounds like a headache

I like the idea of a cordless whisk , It will have to be small mixes but its not such a big job just nice to be able to have the convenience of your vehicle so you can set your stall out without all the parking arrangement nonsense .

I have a small garden that I look after it in Salisbury.  No parking possible.

The client had a one room extension added over the last couple of years. He claims the builders invoiced him for £7500 in parking fines. So if there is no risk of being towed or clamped that may be a way forward, if your client agrees

Crikey i wonder if the builder paid within fourteen days to reduce the fines if that was allowed ?

I am charging the parking fee which is £6 for 6 hours max you can park with no return .

Its becoming a major consideration now parking in some areas and getting more sophisticated , virtual permits linked to your registration number so no need to display a permit .   In fact my van failed its MOT due to vision on drivers window obscured where i had a vehicle pass 2inches by 1 inch stuck on the windscreen .

Pedal power , Now thats a good solution , up or down hill could be a bit hairy with two bags of blue circle on the back but on the flat its a winner .

My wife suggested a pram but gotta think about street cred lol

A wheel barrow the obvious solution but risky it could over balance

Shopping buggy or sack wheels possibly .
