Marathon Horti K

Any users of Marathon Horti K out there?

I'm a fan of marathons lawn fertilisers and have seen this.

I'm thinking for use as a base feed in borders prior to mulching which I try to alternate between mushroom compost and well rotted manure.

I generally use the more traditional poultry manure or fish blood and bone, which is perfectly good, but just wondered if this horti k is 'better'?

I manage some quite sizeable borders so there will be an added cost particularly compared to poultry manure. This isn't a problem with this as long as its a step up.

Thanks guys and gals.

Glen -- have a look at Sustaine products -- i know Pro Green can supply them -- we use this one on some lawns and also use it on borders or plant feed in pots etc -- works very well -- even though it has added iron . Could use the other products without Iron if needed but ive found the added iron is actually really good on most plants, probably as we have very free draining soil around here with a alkaline leaning https://www.sustane.com/products/turfgrass/sustane-5-2-4-fe

As a side note -- not that it matters it looks like Marathon Horti K is organic based ? But not organic ? Sustaine without the Iron is completely organic i believe -- if thats matters

        • Thanks Dan I'll take a look. Yes, being organic is a big factor. Another plus for poultry manure I guess.

Sustaine i think is Turkey manure based -- its a lovely product -- very fine - breaks down quickly and you get good growth rate from it -- its hard to find good organic products -- id recomend it
