Machine maintenance

Morning

Has anyone got any tips of how they keep a maintenance routine for machines/kit?

Apart from the standard servicing, I've tended to fix problems when they arise (Happy to do the work myself). But as my business is growing (will be taking on a second seasonal guy soon) I'm trying to build in downtime in my schedule to put in some preventative servicing.

wondered what sort of routine you might have, weekly/ fortnightly etc.

Also, Ive found a lot of people aren't 'mechanically minded' especially when using other people's kit, if you know what I mean!

Any tips appreciated

Pete

  • I know exactly what 'you mean'!  I gave up doing our own maintenance many years ago.  Find a good local man, that you can build up a good friendly relationship with and let him have the worry - even a broken recoil cord is worth paying £15 in my view!
