Mmmm big bits of kit Rich. For pulling power, reliability and space I rate the VW LT Transporter and the Iveco's LWBHR styles obviously, but, I just bought the VW Transporter LWB Luton ( got shot of my trailers, with 500kg load rear tail lift and side door, love life without trailers lol). I havent driven a VW Crafter but Im told they are excellent by a couple of guys in our line of business local to me.
They are dearer than your Transits, but I think, more reliable and definately more solid.
how do you remove : trees, hedgecuttings or grass cuttings etc etc now?

Ford transit, long wheel base and high roof.. It has a strong 2.4 engine and lasts for years. You can't beat a transit.
I have pulled and carried loads of weight over the 5 years and its always been reliable to me. many of my friends have the 2.4 high roof LWB.
