My business was based in the sticks so I never had to travel into London to work.

How does the congestion charge and especially the new Ulez (Ultra Low Emissions Zone) fees affect your business?

London director of the CBI business lobby group, Eddie Curzon, warned that "smaller firms can struggle to afford the switch to low-emission vehicles", with around 100,000 vehicles expected to be affected each day.

We occasionally venture into London and when we do the congestio charge (and now ULEZ) is built into our costs. We alsoonly have one vehicle in our fleet which complies with the ULEZ so would elect to take that.

I suspect that it may have more of an impact when the ULEZ zone increases in 30 months time to the areas inside the North and south Circular roads.

Wait for the day you are only allowed to use electric power tools and equipment in London and your van is checked as enter for prohibited engine kit, that will cause even more consternation.
