September last year an elderly regular client asked for a price to fell a 30 foot birch tree. I quoted £300 to cut post leaf drop as I had someone wanting the silver logs and they mske use of the branches sprayed white for Christmas
Months passed and no approval was given
this morning at 5 am ! Phone rang I put to answer phone, just listened she wants me to cut the tree down now for £200
LOL the quote wasn't £200 and not when in leaf and the reality of price increases this year, no availability for 9 weeks etc and she's not rung once during covid for maintenance
just writing this and she texts saying can I do this week

I do wonder what it's like to be free all the time

probably just forgetful and remembered the wrong amount rather than attempting to scam a discount... the older folk tend to live in their own little bubble and don't understand the scale that we are working on, it's like they think we are pottering around waiting for them to ring. It's quite sweet really. I have a few like this
