  • Funny you ask, I got a note from Simon Smith (the western one)suggesting this. I am up for it...it was good craic last time. A Saturday afternoon in January again? All should be welcome, even the lady arborists!

    Hi Guys

I've been really neglectful after I said I would come to Ireland.
I really want to do so, so let's try to work something out.

If you guys arrange what suits and I'll see if there are flights that work.

  • Just to get things moving:

I propose a similar format to last January ... How about Sat 18th Jan? This is not to exclude other options for date or format, just a starting point. Seven or eight of us met up last time and apart from one of the Simon Smiths and me, none of us had met before. It would be great to see a few more from this side of the water, and once date and venue set, I am sure we would welcome anybody who could join us from further afield, even France (at a pinch!).

Just want to emphasise there is no clique involved in this...just LJN members who enjoyed a chat, a beer or two and some scoff ... and had far more fun than I, at least, had anticipated.

  • yes please.

  • Benjamin Hapgood Burt:

One evening in October, when I was one-third sober,
An' taking home a "load" with manly pride,
My poor feet began to stutter, so I lay down in the gutter,
And a pig came up an' lay down by my side.
Then we sang "It's all fair weather when good fellows get together,"
Till a lady passing by was heard to say:
"You can tell a man who boozes by the company he chooses."
And the pig got up and slowly walked away.

    so count me inn
