LISS/CSCS Card

Dear All,

I am interested in undertaking site/commercial work as a labourer/landscaper for local landscapers in my area.

Having found out about CSCS cards through conversations with colleagues and researching online I have noticed that are TWO potential CSCS cards for landscape operatives:

LISS/CSCS Card (http://www.bali.org.uk/quality_assurance/liss_cscs) - This card seems to be specifically designed for our industry - providing accreditation for landscaping and pesticides/arboriculture etc.
CSCS Card - The basic green site operative card (http://www.cscs.uk.com/cards/types-of-cards/) for general labourer. A trade recruiter I spoke with said that this would be sufficient for working with one of his landscapers.

In conclusion, which do you think is best?

Is the Green Site Operative sufficient for landscaping?

Or should I get separate LISS/CSCS cards for my labouring, landscaping and pesticide skills?

  • I would speak to the landscapers you want to work for as they know what their clients demand.

  • @DanFrazerGardening OK, thanks very much. That probably is the most direct solution.

Although, long term I may need to work elsewhere in the country. So I wondered which of the two would be the standard card for landscapers.

Or would getting both be worthwhile?
