I tried to post a link to burdens group but it won’t allow it.
bonkers prices but the do hire big machines out
Thank you will have a look
Back of envelope figures only, but:
Rent for £150 a day, assuming you can and the weather lets you complete job say 14 times a year = £2100 pa.
Lease purchase say £200 a month over 5 years = £2400pa x5 = £12k should get you a c£10k machine which will be yours at the end and give you loads of flexibility.
I ran an Etesia Hydro 100 bought this way and got 20 years use....though I should have retired it at 15 year point. (Add VAT to all figures if not registered)
Yeah more effective need something with a large cut but cuttung arms can fold in to fit in trailer
In that case something like this?
Yeah would be ideal what’s the width of that folded?
Not sure exactly but fits on 6ft 6 wide trailer with sides on and some spare space either side of it so probably about 5ft 3/4 Ish. Will measure tomorrow if I remember
Ok thank you, what model ransomes is it?
It’s a parkway 2250 plus.
its the last of the properly mechanical ones. Low hours ones are getting harder to find now. I got mine with 750 hours on it. The newer parkway 3s have got 3 computers in them which can be troublesome even from new. They also have smaller diameter hydro pipes on the cut circuit so are less powerful weirdly.
they will run up huge hours if looked after(contractors local to me have some that are 9000 plus hours and still out everyday!) I was going to buy a parkway 3 this season but got warned off by thier Mecanicic! Stick with what you’ve got he said they are better than that pile of crap (pointing at a parkway 3 in bits in the workshop!)
ill measure it later
