Morning Steve
The stream is man made which pumped and filtered, its for effect and we have a filter which has a by-pass pipe so it can't over fill or run dry.

The area to the right of images 2 is to be slabbed around the BBQ, it leads down to the side entrance which is sloped
Ahhh, a man made stream. That makes it much easier. You could probabrly get away with a concrete haunch to retain your sub base but if it was me I would put a footing in and then a course of concrete blocks as a retainer. Its belt and braces but it will provide the best long term solution against migration
You need to be extremely careful when laying limestone. Certain "flavours" will react with OPC based bedding solutions and there is no work through other than lift and replace.
