Laying astro

Hi folksLooking to broaden my horizons and get into the ever growing (no poor pun intended) market of artificial grassNow I've been involved in laying astro footy pitches but never a garden, what sort of prep work goes in? What sort of base goes down? How do you attach it too the base? Can't see a garden install being filled with tonnes of sand and rubber infill !

  • mot sub base, sharp sand topping layer, either pinned down to timber battens or we use a mortar fillet around the edges of patios etc. so yes a garden install is filled with tonnes of sand and crushed stone

  • Thanks for the reply mate!

What about an infill ontop the carpet?
    • most don't need it these days. they are coming on In leaps and bounds compared to what they were a few years ago. a completely different animal

      • perfect mate thanks for your time!

if anyone in the lanarkshire/glasgow area is laying this in a garden anytime soon please message me !
