Lawn treatments

Hi guys. Can anyone give me any advice please on pricing for lawn treatments? Something like 4 treatments a year for every season . Do you price per square/meter? Or is it more of a guessing game when you see the lawn.ThanksNathan

    Hi Nathan,

lots on pricing discussions on the BOG; it's a sensitive commercial issue, so people are more open in that forum. So maybe sign up for that.

Also, it really depends on the services you're going to offer, and whether there is any value add knowledge on products chosen for different lawns & conditions, plus things like spraying licences for herbicides and pesticides eg mandatory PA1/PA6 etc

We have fixed prices for different services for different area bands, so say up to 50sqm, then 100sqm, 150,200,300 etc.

      Hi Nathan

Andrew pretty much nailed it. More of a discussion for the BOG

      • Is the BOG for pro members?
    • Thanks for your reply. I have my PA1 and 6 certificate. Just looking at other options for lawn care really. Looking at weed and feed in spring and summer then move on too scarification in winter time.

Why would you scarify in winter?

    • It's a good time to do it I'm sure? But think you know more than me on lawn care. Wouldn't do any lawn care while it's frosty don't get me wrong. Get rid of all the thatch while it's root growth.

Yes BOG is for pro members - many people think its the best value £40 or £50 they will ever spend on their business. I've certainly had my monies worth!

    • I might have to invest then

Scarification in winter is very poor practice and to be avoided. Some companies do, as it suits their diary; rubbish for the lawn though.

    • I'm glad you said. That's why I thought it was okay. I know a couple of lads who work for the big company's and that's all they do in winter.
