It looks like red thread which is caused by nitrogen deficincy .give it a good autumn feed of a npk fest should cure it
Hi Ken, thanks for your reply!
I was considering giving it a feed but I was concerned incase it was something more like Fusarium - so the feed might make it worse?!
It's due another feed soon so I'll give it a go.
Cheers
Don't go too high on N at this time of year - it will do more damage than good, leading to more diseases. Needs to be an autumn feed promoting root growth. We're using a 6-5-10+FE as an example.
Next spring give it a good dose of Nitrogen. Also a preventative fungicide around Mar/April could be a good idea.
Thanks Andrew!
I have a similar feed so will go down that route! Would you do a separate iron spray to harden it off?
I was thinking of mixing a little seaweed in with the iron??!
Many thanks
Yes you could do some iron and seaweed as well. We've iron and other bits in the granular formulation so don't need to do a separate spray in the main. A good aeration would help also.
Seaweed has great anti-fungal properties. A little and often will give it a degree of protection and not least health benefits to fight off any attack.
A sprinkle of NPK to give grass energy to fight and a dose of seaweed will help......
