landscaping plant/kit

As i am progressing more into the landscaping side of the business the tools and plant are obviously becoming a bigger part of my outlay, obviously some stuff its cheaper to hire in on a need basis and some things its better to bite the bullet and buy for long term benefit and with the tax year ending i'm looking at what to buy next.Whats the best item of kit you've ever bought that afterwards you wondered how you had managed without it up till then?Currently looking at powered barrows with skiploading capabilitys but have lots of other ideas bubbling around in my brain as well.

  • muck truck thats the powered wheelbarrow yes? having just had to hand barrow about 16 tons 200 yards, due to access issues I am thinking this is a good plan, although currently i don't have another big moving job planned they are alays coming up so im sure it would be money well spent...
  • mini diggers i usually hire one in with a driver it cost me £120-£130 for a day and they do more in a day than i'd do in a week even with a digger!!!

am thinking the muck truck will win, have seen a tracked version (different brand obviously) that carries 500kg has anyone got any experience of this over the wheeled version?
  • Check out a roughneck dumper they come up on ebay sometimes. they fit through a standard door, but a wheeled and you can sit on it. they hold 500kg and tip into a skip. You can also get pallet tines for them and loader buckets. They also have a towing kit so you dont need a trailer.
