Landscaping job

Hi all - I've just had an enquiry from someone in Walthamstow, East London and wonder whether anyone is interested in giving a quote. The client wants some clearance (no hard paving) and then gravel laid - I suggested using the self-binding type. They really don't need a plan for this, but I'd would like to pass on the work to anyone who's interested. If you drop me an email I'll put you in touch. I do have contractors that cover London, but they're all busy and I think this might be a little small for them.Linseywww.linseysgardens.com

  • I too will pass on this one

    thanks all the same
  • This client is talking about using gravel as they don't want to pay out for paving, but they have cats and don't want it to end up as a huge litter tray, hence the suggestion of self-binding gravel. I've used it on paths within a garden scheme and it looks fab. Cleve West did a show garden a few years ago at Chelsea and used it on the terrace area - it looked amazing. CED does a range of different sizes and colours - the silver grey is particularly nice.

Sorry Lindsey, too far for such a little job.

Why the self binding gravel? This is ideal for country paths, rahter horrible for a back garden?

  • Hi Stuart - CED does some really great products - I was having problems finding black granite setts and they were able to get some for me, and I always get black Limestone paving from them. The self-binding is under 'footpath gravels' and comes in four different colours. This job in Maidenhead is the one on which I used the silver gravel http://www.linseysgardens.com/port_lewis.asp. We've also just used the more traditional cream coloured stuff on my Kenley, Surrey job. The CED self-binding gravels seem to be just a little more refined than the more commonly used Breedon gravel and are therefore much more useful in a garden setting. I wouldn't hesitate to suggest it to clients as a cheaper (maybe compromise) if they can't afford to lay slabs.

  • Hi Linsey

Walthamstow is not a million miles from us but we are pretty busy at the moment. Our earliest slot would be mid to late September, if thats any good. Being a small job, the cost of travelling might take it over budget too.

Contact me if you want to talk further
