Ladder Racks

I currently carry two ladders on the roof of my semi-high top panel van. To get the ladders off I use another ladder stored inside to lean against the side of the van, climb onto the roof, and then un-clamp the ladders and slide them (with the aid of a roller) off the back.I have seen other vans with sliding ladder racks (BT use them) which means that the ladders can be unloaded by simply sliding the entire rack off the back of the van. I was wondering if anyone had any experience of using them and if they are worth the money. They seem to be in the region of around £300+ per ladder fitted.I was also wondering where thay could be purchased from.     ladder roller to clamp to roof bars/rack, around the £40 mark, this is a thule.

    dont forget the wahr ,working at height regulations 2005 before using a ladder,we use the henchman work platform.
