When you get that extra couple of feet on the pole and using for longer periods of time that weight saving is well worth the extra cost to me.

Definately go for the carbon fibre extension - I've been using mine for near to 10 years - spread that extra £ 50 over that time and it makes no difference !!

My arms get tired after a trimming a large hedge, so it would be worse with the extra weight.

    Just my 'ten pennerth' !!

  • Hi Peter,

100% worth it. If you only use it once it will have paid for itself.. mine has gotten me out of many a scrape as they say!!

    Have a good weekend

Last one I had lasted over 10yrs, so a sound investment. Anything that makes your life a little easier is worth it. It's made of carbon fibre what's not to like. Go on treat yourself

  • Relatively inexpensive

Investing in this or any other bit of kit will enhance your businesses capabilities and range of services.

Will allow you to complete bigger hedges (width and height) more quickly from the ground or off a work platform so making you more money, and enable you to charge more of a premium for bigger jobs that individuals cant complete without these bits of specialist kit. - less likely that you loose a client to another trader who offers a broader range of services than you do.

Increases your own strength and fitness levels to carry on in our line of work. Enhances your professional reputation with your client - you have the means and capability to complete those tasks they cant or dont want to.

    Good luck mate

    • Luckily I am well past that :)   I have been using Combis since before Stihl invented them - Husqvarna were the first.

I had the first Stihl Combi & with the help of a dealer, made the first extension before they were available.  It still works :)

Unlike you guys who slave away I now take my work with a big slice of chill :)

We use it loads on the pole saw and has lasted 10 years plus...

    • Yes I plan to use one or possibly two carbon shafts with the saw.

Can you use two? Have never tried it but would it go too unstable?

        • Yes definitely too unstable you are right.
